Payment link on the invoice: connecting Stripe
Every finalised invoice gets its own payment link — the money goes straight to your Stripe account. Premium plan only.
Last checked against the program: 10/10/2026
What you get
Every finalised invoice gets its own payment link — in the email and on the PDF. Your customer clicks, pays by card (or whatever your Stripe account offers), and Invobookz marks the invoice as paid by itself.
The money goes straight to your Stripe account, not through ours. Invobookz takes no fee; only your normal Stripe fees apply.
How to connect Stripe
- Open Settings → Banking → Payments.
- Click Connect with Stripe.
- You land at Stripe. Sign in — or create an account there if you do not have one yet.
- Choose the account that should receive the money and authorise Invobookz.
- Stripe sends you back. At the top it says Your Stripe account is connected., with the name of your account.
No key is copied. We only store the number of your Stripe account.
What Invobookz does on your account — and what not
- Yes: create payment requests (the link on the invoice), read incoming payments, payouts and fees — so the invoice counts as paid and the reconciliation with your bank account adds up.
- No: refunds, triggering payouts, transfers, moving balances, managing keys. Invobookz blocks these in the program itself, before a request ever reaches Stripe.
Disconnecting
On the same page, Disconnect — or in your Stripe dashboard under connected apps. New invoices then get no link. Links already sent stay payable.
Rather with your own key?
Below the button it says Rather use your own restricted key. There you create a restricted key at Stripe (it starts with “rk_live_”) and enter it; the page tells you which permissions it needs and checks them. Invobookz does not accept a secret key (“sk_…”).
Common questions
- “Stripe no longer grants access to this account” — the connection was removed in the Stripe dashboard. Disconnect in Invobookz and connect again.
- “Test mode — no real money moves here” — the account is connected in test mode. Connect a live account for real invoices.
- I am on the Starter plan — the payment link belongs to Premium. Until then your customers pay by bank transfer to the bank details on the invoice.
